§ 2Privacy at a glance

The following information provides a brief overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit this website. Personal data is any data that can be used to identify you personally.

§ 3Legal bases for processing

Where we obtain consent for processing personal data, Article 6 (1) (a) GDPR is the legal basis. For processing necessary to perform a contract, Article 6 (1) (b) GDPR applies. Processing necessary to protect legitimate interests is based on Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

§ 4Hosting

This website is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd. (61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus). The server is located in the EU. Hostinger processes personal data on our behalf pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract performance).

§ 5Server log files

The site provider automatically collects and stores information in server log files that your browser transmits automatically. This includes the browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, hostname of the accessing computer and time of the server request. This data is not combined with other data sources.

§ 6Cookies & consent

Our website uses cookies. Technically necessary cookies are set on the basis of Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR. We use all other cookies and similar technologies only after your express consent via the consent banner. You can withdraw your consent at any time in the cookie settings.

§ 7Contact form

If you contact us through the contact form, we store the information you provide, including your contact details, to process your request and handle follow-up questions. We do not disclose this data without your consent.

§ 8Newsletter

If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on this website, we need your email address and information allowing us to verify that you own it. Registration uses a double opt-in process. You can withdraw your consent at any time.

§ 9User Ratings & Reviews

User ratings submitted via our review form are stored in pseudonymised form: the email address is double-opt-in confirmed and then stored as a one-way hash (SHA-256 with salt); the IP address is stored in abbreviated form for 14 days solely for abuse prevention. Editorial scores are determined independently and are stored separately from user ratings. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in preventing rating manipulation).

§ 10Correction Requests

If you submit a correction request via our report form, we process your optional contact details (email address) solely to process the request and communicate the outcome. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in editorial quality assurance). Data is deleted after the request is resolved, at the latest after 6 months.

§ 11Web Analytics and Reach Measurement

Provided you have given your express consent via our cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) on this website, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (part of the Google group together with Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; hereinafter "Google"). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies that enable an analysis of your use of our website. The information generated (including pages visited, time spent, approximate city-level location, browser and device type, referring domain) is transmitted to a Google server and processed there. Processing takes place exclusively on the basis of your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. No analytics script is loaded without your consent; you can withdraw your consent at any time with future effect via the cookie settings in the footer. We have configured Google Analytics so that IP addresses are not stored (IP masking is standard in GA4) and have disabled "Google Signals"; there is therefore no linking with advertising IDs, no cross-device tracking and no personalised advertising via Google Analytics. User- and event-level data is automatically deleted after 14 months. Google may also process data on servers in the USA. Google is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and thereby commits to complying with European data protection standards. Further information on data processing by Google is available in Google's privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy) and in the Analytics help centre (support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245).

§ 12Processors

We use the following processors for the operation of this website: hosting and server infrastructure (Hostinger International Ltd.), email delivery for confirmation, contact and notification emails via our hosting provider's SMTP infrastructure, and – subject to your consent – the web analytics service Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited). Data processing agreements pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR are in place with all processors, ensuring processing only on our instruction. The use of Google Analytics may result in data being transferred to Google LLC in the USA (see section "Web Analytics and Reach Measurement"); otherwise, no data is transferred to third countries outside the EU/EEA.

§ 13Your rights as a data subject

You have the right at any time to request free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients, and the purpose of processing (Art. 15 GDPR), and where applicable the right to rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and the right to object (Art. 21 GDPR). Please contact the address given in the "Controller" section.

§ 14Storage period

Unless a more specific storage period is stated in this privacy policy, your personal data remains with us until the purpose for processing no longer applies. Statutory retention obligations remain unaffected.

§ 15Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

You have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. The supervisory authority for E2 Internet GmbH is: Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen (LDI NRW), Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany.
