Design & Construction
The SiLine GF is Sielaff's answer to the limitations of traditional column vending machines: customers can see what they are buying. Behind a full-width laminated safety glass front with interior lighting, stock sits on up to eight shelves. Instead of numeric selection, a touch display stands at the front, and dispensing occurs via a lift system rather than free fall.
The range comprises five variants, and the choice is a site decision. The GF M measures 1830 × 990 × 895 mm at approximately 330 kilograms; the GF L 1830 × 1140 × 895 mm at approximately 360 kilograms. For high-traffic public locations, Public variants are available with door-edge guards, slightly larger and heavier — the GF Public L RP reaches 1839 × 1149 × 904 mm and approximately 400 kilograms. There is also an outdoor version, the GF L RO, at 1866 × 1210 × 1000 mm and approximately 480 kilograms.
This review covers the GF L, the larger indoor unit. Depth is critical for planning: 895 millimeters is nearly 23 centimeters more than a column vending machine. Anyone retrofitting an existing alcove must re-measure; the lift and glass front require this space. At approximately 360 kilograms empty weight, the same rule applies as for all machines in this class — delivery to upper floors requires a freight elevator.
The dispensing outlet is positioned laterally at handle height. This is not a design detail but the most noticeable daily difference: no customer needs to bend to a door-level opening, and for wheelchair users or those with back problems the machine becomes usable at all. A side benefit for the operator: because the dispensing outlet moves upward, space remains below for an additional shelf level.
Sielaff describes the construction as modular, citing maintenance and recycling. In practice, modular means primarily that shelves can be reconfigured if the product assortment changes — with an eight to twelve year service life, this is the factor that determines viability in the second half of operation. Optional: age verification, two design packages, and panels in RAL colors or stainless steel.
