Our verdict

7.3Good

The Bravilor Esprecious 11 and 12 are not a pair of larger and smaller units, but two internal configurations of the same machine. Dimensions, bean capacity, number of grinders, beverage limit, dispensing heights, waste bin, daily output, user count and energy label are identical. One question remains: a single instant container with 3.2 litres or two with 1.3 litres each. Operators needing two powder varieties take the 12 and lose around 19 per cent instant volume. Documentation stands out positively. The German technical manual with 54 pages includes information not found on any datasheet: water pressure of 1 to 10 bar explicitly measured as static pressure after the filter, and the expansion kit for 2.4 kilograms of beans, which raises the machine by 13 centimetres. Bravilor does not publish a list price.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • Beverage outlet adjustable between 60 and 130 mm, accommodates cups and standard reusable containers.
  • Bravilor explicitly defines installation service, including operator training in maintenance, cleaning and operation.
  • Expansion kit for 2.4 kg bean capacity available, with part number specified in the manual.
  • German technical manual with 54 pages, version 1.0 from 6 February 2024 — uncommon in this device class.
  • Hot water flows from a dedicated tap at fixed dispensing height of 135 mm, keeping the beverage outlet free.
  • Esprecious 11 and 12 are identical in size (352 × 568 × 660 mm) — model choice incurs no floor space penalty.
  • Energy label A+ for all three models in the range.

Cons

  • The water connection must terminate with a 3/4-inch isolation valve within one metre of the installation location.
  • The milk solution costs additional floor space for the narrow models, as the FreshMilk unit stands beside it; only the 11L integrates it within the housing.
  • Single grinder only; two bean varieties in parallel are available only in the 21 and 22 series.
  • Descaling and filter alerts depend on water hardness setting during installation; if set incorrectly, the machine triggers alerts persistently too early or too late.
  • The bean container expansion kit raises the machine by 13 cm — a deal-breaker under a wall-mounted cupboard.
  • No public list price, and the product pages do not state annual consumption in kilowatt-hours.
  • The 12 gains a second powder container at the cost of volume: 2 × 1.3 L total 2.6 L against 3.2 L in the 11.

Review

Build: 11 and 12 are identical in size, only the 11L is wider

The first finding is visible in the dimensions, and it settles a lot of deliberation: the Esprecious 11 and Esprecious 12 have identical builds. Both measure 352 by 568 by 660 millimetres in width, depth and height. The choice between them is not a choice between two unit sizes, but between two internal configurations.

The Esprecious 11L is different. It measures 600 by 568 by 660 millimetres — almost 250 millimetres wider at the same depth and height. The L designates the form factor with integrated milk solution; the narrow models work with a separate FreshMilk unit alongside. For counter planning, this means either a 352-millimetre machine plus floor space for the milk chiller beside it, or 600 millimetres in one housing.

A third measurement is not on the datasheet, but in the technical manual, and it matters for height planning. The Esprecious 11(L) and 12 have an expansion kit with a larger bean container of 1 by 2.4 kilograms, part number 7.270.609.101, including a locking container lid and machine lid. The manual includes a sentence worth knowing before you commit: the expansion kit raises the Esprecious by 13 centimetres. From 660 millimetres it becomes 790, and under a wall-mounted cupboard that is the difference between fitting and not fitting.

The water connection is clearly laid out in the manual: the inlet line must terminate with an isolation valve with 3/4-inch external connection, and this valve must be within one metre of the planned installation location. To position the unit further away requires a line extension. The waste bin capacity is 80 pucks for all three models.

Technology: one grinder, 36 beverages and two different dispensing heights

Operation is via touchscreen, and the number behind it is identical across all three models: 36 beverages maximum. Grinding is done with a single grinder. Operators needing two bean varieties in parallel belong in the 21 and 22 series, for which the manual specifies a separate expansion kit with 2 by 1.2 kilograms.

Dispensing uses two separate heights, and it is more practical than it sounds. The beverage outlet is adjustable between 60 and 130 millimetres for the cup, the hot water outlet is fixed at 135 millimetres. Hot water comes from its own tap and not from the beverage outlet. For a location where teapots need filling, that is the difference between a blocked and a free unit.

The 130-millimetre maximum at the beverage outlet is the value you should verify against your own cups. Standard cups and reusable containers fit fine; tall to-go cups will be tight.

Milk flows from the separate FreshMilk unit on the narrow models, for which the technical manual applies from version 3.0 onwards. Two values belong in the service routine: the manual recommends a chilling unit temperature of 5 degrees, reached in about 20 minutes, and notes during troubleshooting that milk splashes heavily during dispensing if not cold enough, targeting approximately 5 degrees. If operators report milk splash, check cooling first, not the pump.

One entry from the manual's table of contents belongs on the order checklist: it lists an interface board as explicitly optional. Operators wanting to connect the unit to a payment or telemetry system should verify that this board is in the quotation and not order it after delivery. Also note the manual's scope: it covers the Esprecious from version 2.0 and the FreshMilk unit from version 3.0 onwards. For an older used unit this is not the right documentation, and when buying second-hand, check the device version before relying on these specifications.

Bravilor rates all three models with energy label A+. The manufacturer cites 20 to 40 users as the target size and recommends up to 120 cups per day.

Capacity: the only real difference between 11 and 12

This is where the decision lies. Bean capacity is the same for both models: 1 by 1.4 kilograms. Instant powder is where they diverge: the Esprecious 11 has one container with 3.2 litres, the Esprecious 12 has two with 1.3 litres each. The 11L follows the 11 with one container at 3.2 litres.

The mathematics are clear. The 11 holds approximately 23 per cent more instant volume than the 12 at 3.2 versus 2.6 litres combined, but can only carry one variety. The 12 trades volume for a second powder variety. Operators wanting chocolate and milk powder kept separate need the 12. Those running a single powder and stretching refill intervals are better served by the 11.

This changes the beverage menu less than expected: the 36-beverage ceiling is identical on both because it depends on recipe management, not container count. The difference shows up in operation, not the menu.

Bravilor quotes up to 120 cups per day for all three models, with 20 to 40 users as the target size. These figures place the Esprecious clearly apart from high-end self-service units, in exactly the right category: office pantry, waiting area, medical practice, smaller canteen.

Operators needing more bean stock choose the expansion kit with 2.4 kilograms. That is a gain of roughly 71 per cent over the standard 1.4 kilograms and costs the noted 13 centimetres of installed height. At 120 cups per day and assuming 8 grams of beans per cup, the standard container lasts about 175 cups, just under two days; with the expansion kit, roughly 300 cups.

Operation: water pressure is measured after the filter

The Esprecious technical manual runs to 54 pages in German, version 1.0 from 6 February 2024. It covers the Esprecious from version 2.0 and the FreshMilk unit from version 3.0 onwards. Such documentation is not standard in this device class, and it contains specifications not found on any datasheet.

The most important concerns water pressure. It must be between 1 and 10 bar, and the manual is explicit about how it is measured: as static pressure after any water filtration that may be installed. This is precisely where installations fail. Measure before the filter and you are looking at a window the machine never sees.

Two maintenance alerts are triggered by the machine itself, both tied to water hardness. The descaling prompt appears when water consumption exceeds the logged volume for the coffee and instant systems, and that volume is set via the water hardness setting. The water filter change alert can be manually reset in the menu. Both mean: if water hardness is set incorrectly during installation, the machine will alert persistently too early or too late.

Notable is how Bravilor defines installation service. The manual lists for the technician, among other items: inspection for transport damage, electrical and water connections, connection of a water filter system if ordered, a functionality test, calibration to a standard recipe, taste adjustment, water volume dosing verification with calibration if needed, and explicitly operator training in maintenance, cleaning and operation. When comparing quotations, verify these points are included.

A practical safety note: hot water exits the boiler drain hose during emptying; the manual requires appropriate precautions, and work in the maintenance area demands gloves and long sleeves because of sharp edges. A separate safety manual is also supplied; Bravilor provides it as a 190-page edition in 20 languages.

Price: no list price, but a straightforward decision rule

Bravilor does not state a price on its product pages. This review therefore does not repeat a figure that cannot be verified.

What can be said clearly is the purchase decision, and for this series it is unusually straightforward because the models are nearly identical. Dimensions, bean capacity, number of grinders, beverage limit, dispensing heights, waste bin, daily output, user count and energy label are identical between 11 and 12. One question remains: a single instant container with 3.2 litres or two with 1.3 litres each. Operators running two powder varieties take the 12. Those running one take the 11 and refill less often.

The second decision is the milk solution, and it costs floor space rather than performance. The narrow models at 352 millimetres need the FreshMilk unit beside them, while the 11L delivers 600 millimetres in one housing. On a continuous counter the separate solution offers flexibility; in an alcove the 11L is the more honest calculation.

The third decision is the bean container expansion kit. 2.4 instead of 1.4 kilograms is roughly 71 per cent more stock, and the cost is 13 centimetres of installed height. Make this choice before purchasing the base unit, not after.

Three ongoing costs arise during operation: water filter, descaling and milk cooling. All three depend on settings made during installation, particularly water hardness. The A+ energy label is an indicator but not a consumption figure; the product pages do not state annual energy consumption in kilowatt-hours. What Bravilor does supply is documentation: a separate safety manual provided as a 190-page edition in 20 languages, plus a 32-page short version. For a workplace with legal training obligations, this is a usable foundation and not a mere insert.

Publicly verifiable operator feedback could not be found; that section therefore remains empty rather than filled with quotes.

Frequently asked questions about Bravilor Esprecious 11/12

What distinguishes the Esprecious 11 from the Esprecious 12?

Only the instant containers. Both measure 352 × 568 × 660 millimetres, hold 1 × 1.4 kilograms of beans, have one grinder, maximum 36 beverages, dispensing height 60 to 130 millimetres for cups and 135 millimetres for hot water, 80 pucks waste bin capacity, up to 120 cups per day and energy label A+. The 11 has one instant container with 3.2 litres, the 12 has two with 1.3 litres each.

What does the L stand for in the Esprecious 11L?

It designates the form factor with integrated milk solution. The 11L measures 600 × 568 × 660 millimetres, making it almost 250 millimetres wider than the narrow models, which work with a separate FreshMilk unit alongside. All other performance specifications match the Esprecious 11.

How many cups per day can the Esprecious handle?

Bravilor recommends up to 120 cups per day and cites 20 to 40 users as the target size — the same for all three models. At 120 cups and an assumed 8 grams of beans per cup, the standard container lasting 1.4 kilograms covers approximately 175 cups, just under two days.

Can the bean container be enlarged?

Yes. The technical manual lists an expansion kit for the Esprecious 11(L) and 12 with a bean container of 1 × 2.4 kilograms, part number 7.270.609.101, including a locking container lid and machine lid. The kit raises the machine by 13 centimetres, from 660 millimetres to 790.

What water pressure does the machine require?

Between 1 and 10 bar. The critical point is how it is measured: the technical manual demands static pressure after any water filtration installed, not before. The inlet line must also terminate with a 3/4-inch isolation valve positioned within one metre of the planned installation location.

What does the Bravilor Esprecious cost?

Bravilor does not publish a price on its product pages. Cost-relevant variables are the model choice between 11, 11L and 12, the milk solution as separate FreshMilk unit or integrated, the expansion kit for bean container size, and any water filter system, whose connection the manual includes as installation service.

WMF 1100 S

WMF · Hot Drink Machines

WMF 1100 S

7.3Good

Up to 80 cups daily, 7-inch touchscreen display, and HACCP-capable cleaning protocols: the WMF 1100 S is a compact super-automatic espresso machine for offices with 20 to 60 employees. The unit measures 325 × 500 × 571 mm, weighs approx. 25.5 kg, and fits most kitchen counters without structural modification. The removable brewing unit processes a maximum of 15 g coffee grounds per brew and delivers consistent results; cleaning protocols can be exported via USB for HACCP documentation. Two operational limitations merit attention: the Basic Milk system draws milk via tube from an external cooler or milk carton, requiring more daily handling than an integrated refrigerated system. Additionally, WMF designates the 1100 S as discontinued—orderable only until 30.09.2026. New units cost €3,495 to €4,873 net depending on configuration; spread over five years, depreciation amounts to €699 to €975 annually, plus consumables and service charges. The machine suits operators seeking a low-maintenance office unit with HACCP documentation who do not operate high-throughput sites.

Rhea Luce Zero

Rheavendors · Hot Drink Machines

Rhea Luce Zero

7.2Good

The luce zero is a ladder with five rungs, and its strength is that the footprint remains constant across all tiers: 640 × 1,830 × 705 mm, regardless of specification. The purchasing decision hinges on a clear breaking point. Between zero.1 and zero.2, power doubles from 1,600 to 3,200 watts, cup dispensing stations increase from one to two, grinders from one to up to two, and only here does the Varitherm induction system become available—for which Rheavendors claims 85 percent energy savings versus a boiler. Practically speaking: the smaller tiers operate at approximately 7 amperes on a standard outlet; the larger ones require 14 amperes and a dedicated circuit. The documentation is the weak point—weight, water connection, cup capacity, daily and hourly throughput, and any maintenance specifications are not publicly available.

Necta Koro Max

Necta · Hot Drink Machines

Necta Koro Max

6.8Good

330 mm cabinet width, genuine espresso brewer (Z3000 L, maximum 12 g dose) and eight beverage options including chocolate: the Necta Koro Max Prime by Evoca (Varese, IT) is designed for offices with 30 to 80 employees and small food-service locations with moderate daily demand up to approximately 50 vends. Mains-fed variant from approximately €3,105 net (All4Vending DE); tank version up to €4,429 net (NL market). Two structural limitations: milk capability is restricted to powder, with no fresh-milk system. Telemetry and remote service are absent, as this device predates the 2020 product generation. Door opening for refilling triggers a complete device restart. Service infrastructure across the DACH region is sparse; spare parts arrive via specialist retailers with 3 to 10 days lead time. For office locations without high-throughput demands and with in-house cleaning staff, the device is a solid offering. Locations with more than 80 vends daily or requiring digital service interfaces should evaluate current OCS models with connectivity.
