Operator Ecosystem
Full-service contract
Term from the vending glossary
Full-service maintenance contract where the operator provides and maintains the machine, supplies and restocks products, and handles all maintenance, repairs and spare parts. Billed either as a monthly flat fee or revenue share. Eliminates capital expenditure and in-house operational labor; location owners receive lower margins compared to in-house operation.
Under a full-service contract, the operator provides and manages everything: equipment, products, stocking, cleaning, maintenance, repairs and billing. The location owner supplies space, electricity and water only—and requires no operational involvement.
Operating costs are reflected in the margin retained by the operator. For locations without staff for such tasks, this is typically more cost-effective than in-house operation—the comparison is contract cost versus your own labor expenses. Key considerations: response times when equipment fails and who controls the product assortment.
